Mary Jean "MJ" Lastimosa: Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2014




 Mary Jean Lastimosa, a 26-year-old beauty from North Cotabato, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2014 at the annual beauty pageant's grand coronation night held at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday. She joined Binibining Pilipinas three times before finally winning the crown.





During the question-and-answer portion, Lastimosa was asked by reigning Miss Universe Queen Gabriela Isler, "What is the greatest advantage of being a woman?"
A confident Lastimosa answered: "The greatest advantage of being a woman is being able to compose herself. Just like here, we're standing in front of thousands of people, not knowing if you're going to cheer for us or boo us. But we try to compose ourselves. We keep the emotions and show the beauty that is in us and tonight, thousands of people are standing here, celebrating the beauty of women."

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Mary Anne Guidotti, who hails from Taguig City, was crowned Binibining International 2014. Kris Tiffany Janson, a 24-year-old financial analyst, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental.  Yvethe Marie Santiago, won the Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2014 title. Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2014 title went to 25-year-old registered nurse, Parul Shah. Laura Lehman and Hanna Ruth Sison were the 1st and 2nd runner up respectively.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.



Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.

Miss Venezuela Pageant Suspended Amid Prostitution and Corruption Scandal

The organization behind Miss Venezuela’s iconic beauty pageant is under investigation for possible misconduct of its contestants following claims of prostitution and corruption throughout the organization.
Former Miss Venezuela contestants, posted on social media insinuating other contestants had romantic relationships with corrupt businessmen and officials.
"Given the events recently described on social media ... a decision has been made to begin an internal review to determine if anyone linked (to the pageant), during the course of their involvement, violated the values and ethics of the contest," the Miss Venezuela Organization said in a statement.
Miss Venezuela is owned by the wealthy Venezuelan Cisneros family. Cisneros Group also owns Venezuela’s top-rated television channel Venevision the biggest Spanish-language channel in the U.S. Among future measures, the organization will create a new "Beauty Committee" and carry out a full pageant reorganization, the …
