Bb. Pilipinas 2015: Five to Beat

By: Quito

Are they the front runners to beat for the 5 Binibining Pilipinas 2015 titles at stake in the finals? How many of them will take home titles after the coronation night on March 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum?

Yes I do believe that all of these 5 gorgeous girls in the picture do possess international calibers as beauty queens and with all positivity they will shine in the international arena if given the chance to represent us abroad.

Having said that, I would like to share with you guys my assessment with them.

Ann Lorraine Colis

This 5'9 stunner from Pampanga has aura for Miss Universe pageant. Her beautiful close-up smile registers well both on TV and on cameras and facially she looks like an upgrade of Miss Universe-Philippines 2000 Nina Ricci Alagao but unlike Nina, she does not have that curve to have a vavavoom body. Nonetheless, this girl knows how to project well on cameras and onstage to look beautifully shaped.

 Christi Lynn McGarry

This 5'11 pageant veteran is another very tough contender who screams for the Miss Universe-Philippines 2015 title. Indeed her statuesque height and her English fluency are just among of her advantages to be a big threat but admittedly her facial feature is not so well impressive especially at the closer look. She once represented our country in the Miss Intercontinental 2010 pageant where she landed as semifinalist so I do not think that she is eligible to win the Binibinining Pilipinas-Intercontinental title in the finals.

 Janicel Lubina

This 5'9 contender from Palawan maybe one of the youngest in the batch but she is undeniably one of the strongest girls to beat for the Miss Universe-Philippines 2015 titles. She is like physically perfect especially her killer curve complimented by her well-proportioned long legs and surprisingly it is like unanimous thing that majority of the pageant sites and pages both local and international all have listed her as the best girl to continue the winning streak of the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant for the 6th year in a row this year. Her communication skill is what many pageant fans are worrying and even criticizing but pageant is not a quiz bee. One's determination fueled by her passion and confidence will make her appearing smart onstage.

 Hannah Sison

This 5'8 3-time Binibining Pilipinas candidate from Albay has one of the most beautiful faces and smiles in the competition. Her good command in English language is also one of her strongest weapons to win a title in her last try. Though she does not have that curvaceous body but she is another girl who obviously mastered the angle on where to strike to look bodily beautiful. Unfortunately at her age, she can't be Binibining Pilipinas-International 2015 titleholder.

 Pia Wurtzbach

This 5'8 mestiza and also a 3-time Binibining Pilipinas repeater has a striking unique beauty with a very natural good communication skill. Her doll-like face is so suited for the Miss International crown. She may be bashed for her physique but under a camp of which its girls are physically trained by the most admired and probably most effective fitness guru Sir John Cuay then Pia is so transformable into perfection if given a title this year. Admirably she has the most organized fan base among the girls this year in terms of support and efforts by those who are rooting for her.

NOTE : I wouldn't be surprised if one of these contenders will take home the most coveted title of the night on March 15 - the Miss Universe-Philippines 2015 crown!

Just a share of thoughts guys, I am not a pageant expert but just a plain pageant fan like you guys.Though the picture collage featured only 5 girls but rest of the Binibining Pilipinas are equally competitive and poised to give their best shots in the finals and they are number of them who can possibly take titles in the coronation night. This is pageant world guys. Expect for the most visible names as sort of talk-of-the-town girls but it does not guarantee for sure win. Dark horses are part of the game every pageant to end up winners and they are very possible this year!

Good Luck Girls.............

Miss World: 'One Million Tree Stories' Project

From Indonesia to Philippines and now Sri Lanka, Miss World beauty with a purpose.

It was indeed a busy year for Rolene Strauss, Miss World 2014 within  just a week or more she was able to travel to three different countries. After she attended the opening of the BWAP Pediatric Cancer Wing at the Philippine General Hospital she flew to Sri Lanka to launch the ‘One Million Tree Stories’ project, an initiative with the objective of planting one million trees in Sri Lanka within the year to enhance the nation's environment for future generations.

Miss World was thrilled to be a part of such an inspiring enterprise and says she will do her best to publicize this great initiative and share the concept with the world, saying: "The launch of the 'One Million Tree Stories' project from Rotary in collaboration with Sri Lanka tourism brought back fond memories of my childhood. My grandmother used to tell me that I am a flower from heaven's garden. As the 'flowers', we need the environment to grow and blossom. I have realized again how important it is to protect and restore our environment. By planting trees, we do just that. We create a 'garden' in which we can flourish in harmony."

Anindya Kusuma Putri is Puteri Indonesia 2015

Anindya Kusuma Putri , representative of Central Java , won the Miss Indonesia pageant 2015. She was crowned by Elvira Devinamira , Puteri Indonesia 2014 , during the coronation in Jakarta , Friday, February 20th, 2015.

It was her second attempt in joining the pageant. She first joined in 2012 where Maria Selena won the title. Cynthia Fabyola of West Kalimantan and Greysia Amanda Maaliwuga of North Sulawesi were the first and second runner-up respectively. Fabyola is expected to represent Indonesia in Miss International and Maaliwuga will be competing in Miss Supranational.

Will Anindya Kusuma Putri continue the 2 year streak of Indonesia as semi-finalist in Miss Universe pageant?

Blind Item: Which Pageant is this?

By: En Nepomuceno

It took time for me to decide whether to publish it or not, but I think it is rather better to share it to you at least you know what's going on!

It is said that this pageant has already a winners and they already selected those winners before the finals night. It comes as a surprise when a previous official candidate of a prestige pageant failed to make it but at some point one of the major sponsors sent a message thru Facebook asking if this "supposed to be candidate" wanna be part of the official list so this major sponsor could talk to the org. However, this "supposed to be candidate" declined the offer, and replied back asking how those who doesn't have the qualities basing on the criteria for judging made it as official? And this "supposed to be candidate" surprised by major sponsor's response, "the one above, will win and the one below will clap" ( in reference to the photos this supposed to be candidate sent to the sponsor ).

Which pageant is this? Well, my lips are sealed!

The 34 candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2015 presented to the Media

One of the anticipated pre-pageant activities leading up to the finals happened today, as Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) formally presented its official roster of candidates before the press.

In a warm and exclusive gathering at the Sunset Pavilion in Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, the thirty-four delegates of Binibining PIlipinas 2015 displayed sultry elegance as they walked the ramp before the discriminating eyes of sponsors, guests, and the media.

These gorgeous Filipinas came from all over the country, besting over a hundred aspirants who joined the rigorous four-day screening back in January.

The lineup consists of local pageant winners, graduates from top schools, artists, and working professionals who excel in their respective fields, befitting the profile of modern-day Filipinas.

Since 1964, the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has been the prestigious discoverer and trainer of young ladies who represent our country in well-known international beauty tilts and in a span of five decades, the BPCI has proven its caliber as a credible institution that eyes potential candidates; from the laudable Miss Universe Philippines triumphs of Venus Raj (4th runner-up, 2010), Shamcey Supsup (3rd runner-up, 2011), Janine Tugonon (1st runner-up, 2012), and Ariella Arida (3rd runner-up, 2013) down to the recent Top 10 finish of Mary Jean Lastimosa in the 63rd Miss Universe Pageant.

We also remember the victories of Binibining Pilipinas delegates who competed for other international titles, namely Bea Rose Santiago (Miss International 2013), Johanna Datul (Miss Supranational 2013), Cindy Miranda (Top 10 finalist, Miss Tourism Queen International 2013), Kris Tiffany Janson (2nd runner-up, Miss Intercontinental 2014), and Yvethe Marie Santiago (Top 20 finalist, Miss Supranational 2014).

The Binibining Pilipinas 2015 candidates still have a lot on their plates with the following forthcoming activities: a Fashion Show on February 26 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Parade of Beauties on March 7, and the Grand Coronation Night slated on March 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, which will be telecast live at ABS-CBN.

The Binibining Pilipinas 2015 pageant is presented by the Araneta Center, ABS-CBN, JAG Jeans, Manhattan Garden City, Philippine Airlines – the official airline, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila – the official hotel, Manila Bulletin – the official print partner, J.A.C Motors, David’s Salon, Gold’s Gym, Picture City, Dale Carnegie Training Center, Entrepreneur School of Asia, Charter Ping An Insurance Corp., and Raymond Saldana Photography.
