USA is Country of the Year

With the recently concluded Miss Universe 2014 pageant, USA ended the 2014 as the country of the year in the world of pageantry with a total points of 2600, followed by Colombia with 2150 points. Philippines and Brazil ranked 3rd with 1750 points, Thailand managed to enter the Top 8 performing countries of TPQ where they placed 5 with 1550, UK/England with 1400 points and Venezuela with 1300, completing the 8 wonders is Mexico with 1250 points.

Despite having no crowns USA's runners-up placement in Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss Universe made them to be on top. While Colombia's 1st runner-up placement in Miss International, Top 16, Miss Earth and reaping the Universe title made them being the 2nd performing country of the year. 

South Africa and Puerto Rico were excluded in spite of having the titles from Miss World and Miss International due to their non-placement at the other 2 major international pageants.

This 2015, aside from the Big 4 international pageants-- Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth, we will also include other 4 minor international pageants to perfectly define our 8 WONDERS of BEAUTY.

 However, points system would be different. While these 4 major international pageants have 1000 points for the winner, 900 points for 1st runner-up, 800 points for 2nd runner-up, 700 points for 3rd runner-up, 600 points for the 4th runner-up, 500 points for Top 10, 250 points for either Top 25, Top 16 or Top 15, minor titles would only have, 500 points for the title, 400 points for 1st runner-up, 300 points for 2nd runner-up, 200 points for 3rd runner-up, 100 points for 4th runner-up, 80 points for Top 10, 50 points for Top 20/15.

A UP Professor eyes to be Miss World Philippines 2018

If it's a battle of wit and credentials, Jerelleen Rodriguez will easily snatch the main crown or any of the titles.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.

Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.

Aren't these enough for her to win any of the crowns?

Miss Venezuela Pageant Suspended Amid Prostitution and Corruption Scandal

The organization behind Miss Venezuela’s iconic beauty pageant is under investigation for possible misconduct of its contestants following claims of prostitution and corruption throughout the organization.
Former Miss Venezuela contestants, posted on social media insinuating other contestants had romantic relationships with corrupt businessmen and officials.
"Given the events recently described on social media ... a decision has been made to begin an internal review to determine if anyone linked (to the pageant), during the course of their involvement, violated the values and ethics of the contest," the Miss Venezuela Organization said in a statement.
Miss Venezuela is owned by the wealthy Venezuelan Cisneros family. Cisneros Group also owns Venezuela’s top-rated television channel Venevision the biggest Spanish-language channel in the U.S. Among future measures, the organization will create a new "Beauty Committee" and carry out a full pageant reorganization, the …
