Mister United Continents Philippines 2015: Early Top 17

By: Aamir Dungog

I would be having a bias picks since I haven't met the candidates from Visayas and Mindanao yet though some of them made it on my list I still give more emphasis on the candidates that I met already. I am just being honest but surely this will change as soon as I meet the candidates from VizMin.

Bon Quinto is my top pick so far. With his height, chinito looks and good physique no way that the judges would just ignore him, adding up to that is his personality, courage and determination in winning the top plum.

Rickson Logaspi. I met him during the Fashion Show for A Cause of Mister United Continents Philippines which I and Niel ( One of TPQ Admins ) covered the event. I can say that he is just a powerful force every time he set foot on stage.

Danilo Magtoto Jr./Basti Gomez. You won't find him attractive unless you met him. He is one of the most prepared candidates.

Rey Cataluña. Devilishly handsome is the best phrase that I would use to describe him. That charisma, aura and sex appeal will help him to win the title.

Rolly Oporto. He may not be everyone's favorite but when he hit the stage and exudes fierceness surely you would not ignore him . He will give the front-runners a run for their money.

Completing my Top 17 are;

*Ricardo De Jesus
*Jeric Gines
*Coco Salvacion Evangelista
*Hanz Velano
*Mark Andrew Baron
*Ronelle Lutching
*Aljon Buenaflor
*Victorio Bote
*Ruben Garcia
*Arcel Pacaigue
*Kevin Jovellano
*Mj Lumibao

Miss Universe Japan 2015, Ariana Miyamoto: Isn't Japanese enough

Ariana Miyamoto was crowned earlier this month is half Japanese and half African-American. She was born and raised in Nagasaki and can speak fluent Japanese.

Miyamoto is the most talk-about beauty queen right now. She has been gaining attention since she was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2015. Critics were saying she's not a Japanese.

“She has too much black blood in her to be Japanese,” one borderline racist critic posted online, according to Japan’s RocketNews24.

“Even though she’s Miss Universe Japan, her face is foreign no matter how you look at it!” another wrote on Twitter, according to a translation by the Washington Post.

But Ariana had to defend herself. In her first interview after winning the top spot in the contest, the biracial beauty explained that while she doesn’t “look Japanese,” she is truly a representative of the country and the culture. She’s a master of Japanese calligraphy, grew up in Nagasaki and returned to the country after living in the U.S. for high school. By birth, she is a citizen of Japan.

With the attention she is having right now from around the globe are we going to expect Japan to have their third Miss Universe?

Japan is the very first Asian Miss Universe. They won their first and second Miss Universe in 1959 and 2007 courtesy of Akiko Kojima and Riyo Mori.

Rumor: No Miss Venezuela at Miss Earth 2015

Rumor says, the power house country in the world of pageantry will not join this year's Miss Earth Pageant due to financial crisis.

Venezuela have been suffering from economic crisis since last year due to political and social issues. (Read here: The Impending Collapse of Venezuela)

The following excerpt you are about to read is a translated article from Univision;

By Julio Rodriguez Matute.

The economic crisis affecting the country has also affected the main Venezuelan oil industry after: The Miss Venezuela.
And is that, according to the words of the "Czar of Beauty", Osmel Sousa, this year the Miss Venezuela only will crown two queens, the Miss Venezuela Miss Universe and Miss Venezuela for Miss International, apart from Miss Venezuela World that will be chosen in competition apart by demands of Miss World Organization.
Apparently, there is no budget to be sending more queens to other competitions and this year the "victim" of the Venezuelan precarious economic situation will be the "Miss Earth" because, among other things, the "Miss International" contest will begin from this year to collect franchise rights until 2014 had been entirely free to all countries that send representation to Tokyo.
Note that the Miss Venezuela Organization, chaired by Sousa, had been sending Venezuelan candidates for "Miss Earth" since 2010 and achieved the main crown of this international competition in 2013 with Alyz Henrich. Last year, the "Miss Venezuela Earth" Maira Alexandra Rodriguez won a place among the finalists, getting the deserved crown of "Miss Earth-Water".
Osmel Sousa expects Venezuela's economic situation improves soon for Venevision can afford again in the future, the rights of participation in the main Creole beauty contest ecological theme of the planet.

For now, let's wait for what's going to happen next.

Bencelle Bianzon is the new Miss Philippines Earth-Fire 2014

There's no press release yet from the Miss Philippines Earth Org or/and Carousel Production but from an Instagram post by Miss Philippines Earth-Air 2014, Kim Covert they welcome Bencelle Bianzon as the new Miss Philippines Earth-Fire 2014.

If we are going to base on that post, then we can assume that Bianca Paz is no longer the Miss Philippines Earth-Fire title holder.

Well, the lest we can do for now is wait for the formal announcement from the org.

Bb. Pilipinas 2015, No Switching of Titles

BPCI released a statement yesterday, March 18. 2015 that there would be no switching of titles contrary to the speculations that Rogelie Catacutan is the new Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental.

Christi Lynn McGarry will retain her title as Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental despite the fact the she competed with the same International Pageant in 2010 where she landed in top 10 and awarded as Miss Asia and Ocenia. Catacutan will still remain as Bb. Pilipinas Supranational.

When McGarry was crowned on Sunday night, March 15, 2015 many wondered if she could still compete in the same pageant and yes still can according to BPCI.

Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Final Hot Picks

34 lovely Filipinas will battle out for 5 titles of the prestigious pageant in the country tomorrow night at the Araneta Coliseum -- Bb. Pilipinas 2015 pageant.

After much deliberation and judging made by our admins who have different bets and favorites we ended up choosing the following ladies which we believe are ready and worthy enough to wear the Philippine sash internationally. So, here goes our final prediction.

15. Anabel Christine Tia - A lot were amazed of her huge improvement. She did an awesome job preparing for the pageant. Once she enter the semis she will make a surprise win.

14. Rogelie Catacutan - This lovely Cebuana is the lone KF's entrant this year and she will surely prove her worth having those experience in the past.

13. Alaiza Flor Malinao - She is one of those dark horses many pageant pundits are rooting for to make a huge surprise but she will be in uphill battle with the early front-runners.

12. Renee Soraya Hassani - She is always compared to Koyal Rana of India who is a huge favorite to win the Miss World 2014 crown along with the eventual winner Rolene Strauss of South Africa. Renee is very classy and elegant just work on her projection and right posture then surely she will win bigtime.

11. Ria Rabajante - Who would ignore that Miriam Quiambao dead-ringer? Having that exotic beauty will really bring her closer to the crown. She would be a great Philippine delegate to Miss Supranational or Miss Universe.

10. Patricia Lae Ejercitado - This is Pat's third and last attempt in clinching one of the crowns and hopefully she gets one. She has that aura and charisma that will shine once given a chance to compete abroad.

9. Christi Lynn McGarry - We really love to see her shouting Philippines abroad especially for Miss Universe but this time she needs to work on proper styling, she's beautiful at times but there times where she looks plain. Her beauty is layogenic.

8. Teresita Ssen Marquez - She is really a stunner and performer. Her stage presence is very commanding. She too would be a great Miss Philippines Supranational rep.

2nd runner-up Pia Wurztbach - She's undoubtedly beautiful but she lacks on performing in every activities, another thing is those curves are missing. A runner-up placement is very safe for her or the Intercontinental crown.

1st runner-up Princess Joy Camu - Those malignant eyes are her very asset. Just work on doing better than good tomorrow night then she will be a good rep for Miss International but if luck won't be on her side we would love to see her compete again.

Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Queen International Kylie Verzosa - With just beauty alone, Kylie will slay them all. But her performance and presence in the competition is somewhat like Cindy Miranda during Bb. Pilipinas 2013 who then ended up with the same title and finish semis in her international competition. If luck will be on Kylie's side a Miss Intercontinental or International would be great.

Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Hannah Ruth Lulu Sison - She is in heat on her last try and must win a crown. Hannah would really fit in this German based pageant with her pretty face and incredible personality.

Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Nancy Lee Leonard - She is very beautiful, no doubt about it. This Zamboangena has that latina look that many pageant fans compare to Paulina Vega. She is charming and with that she could win another Supranational crown for the Philippines.

Bb. Pilipinas International Ann Lorraine Colis - She is fierce and sweet but her beauty is underrated by many pageant fans. If we want to see another International crown on a Filipina head then Ann is the one we should send.

Bb. Pilipinas Universe Janicel Lubina - Such a lovely face, having that attractively curved shape, great catwalk skills and showing an unstoppable performance and improvement is the one we should send to Miss Universe pageant for us to have our third Miss Universe crown. As for her communication skills, she can deliver her thoughts well with confidence. So what else we could ask for?

What can you say about our prediction? Care to share yours?

Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Fearless forecast

By: En Nepomuceno

It is again the time of the year where the most beautiful women in every corners of the country will battle out for the Bb. Pilipinas crowns.

The road to the crown become tougher and tougher every year as it gives intense pressure where every year Philippine delegates to international competition has been performing so well.

Who among the 34 lovely binibinis will wear the sash and shout "PHILIPPINES" in Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational, Miss Intercontinental and Miss Tourism Queen International?

Here goes my final observation and prediction both from gut feel and whom I think are worthy enough to win.

Bb. 1 Samantha Barbara Balbin - She is beautiful and adorable especially without make-up but being the number ONE in the competition she needs to work harder not to be forgotten once the remaining candidates show up on stage.

Bb. 2 Maria Jenny Feliz Gonzalez - She has shown lots of improvement since Day 1. She has potentials but not discovered yet.

Bb. 3 Ria Rabajante - I don't get the hyped with her during Bb. Pilipinas GOLD (2013) maybe because there were lots of stunners that time but as time goes by I am slowly loving her. She exudes fierceness and beauty, she reminds me of Miriam Quimbao ( Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up ). I commend her and her Team for maintaining her freshness and beautiful aura I have been wanting for since Bb. Pilipinas and Miss World Philippines 2013. ( Always elegant, fresh and devilishly gorgeous during screening but slowly fading as the competition goes on )

Bb. 4 Renee Soraya Hassani - No doubt should she make it. Her bubbly personality and gorgeous face really help her a lot. Just work on improving her poses. Sometimes she tends to do an awkward pose.

Bb. 5 Caneille Faith Santos - I don't see something especially with her. Though she has a beautiful body, her beauty is forgettable.

Bb. 6 Toni Alyessa Hipolito - After failing twice she came back with elegance. I am not a fan of her but it is undeniable that she is really beautiful. Her eyes and smile are captivating and seems to be magnetic.

Bb. 7 Enrica Roxiel Guieb - She is just plain for me and needs to improve her styling. Its hard for her to outshine other candidates. Hopefully she will do pretty well on March 15.

Bb. 8 Kimverlyn Suiza - I love her during Miss Philippines Earth 2013 but when she joined Bb. Pilipinas 2014 I found her incompetent but I am glad that she improved this year. She is proving everyone that she deserves to win.

Bb. 9 Maolin Yalung - She is giving me a benefit of the doubt vibes. She might be unnoticed but seeing her in all their events thrilled me. She has this kind of aura that needs to work on, so she could penetrate in winning.

Bb.10 Pia Wurtzbach - Undoubtedly beautiful that's why she is one of the most loved Binibini. Just work on to soften her looks especially her eyes. Right styling will really bring her closer to the crown.

Bb. 11 Janicel Lubina - Beautiful and lovely face, curvaceous body, great catwalk skill, what else could I ask for? She is the most consistent candidate for me. She has shown lots of improvement and she never fail to amaze everyone.

Bb. 12 Kylie Verzosa - The most beautiful face of Bb. Pilipinas 2015. Having that regal and lively personality will really help her winning any of the crowns especially the top plum.

Bb. 13 Mae Liezel Ramos -  I won't be surprised should she enter the top 15 she was able to penetrate last year how much more this year. She knows how to carry herself on stage and in front of cameras but she's slowly fading just my observation.

Bb. 14 Princess Joy Camu - Her huge improvement from screening days till this time is commendable. She has an amazing beauty and those appealing eyes scream Miss International crown. She would for sure slay other strong and front-runners on March 15.

Bb. 15 Paula Rich Bartolome - She is someone that should not be ignored. She looks like Riza Santos for me but If I were to compare her with the front-runners she needs to work harder to beat them.

Bb. 16 Marvi Ann de Lima - She is inconsistent in both performance and beauty which caused her to easily forget and left unnoticed. She should work on proper styling and maintain her great performance.

Bb. 17 Brenna Cassandra Gamboa - After she placed 4th in Miss World Philippines 2012 I am expecting a lot from her. She must have been preparing for this, however, she seems to be complacent and not doing an extra effort.

Bb. 18 Crissa Marie Mendiola - Being the tallest in this batch give her an advantage to outshine the rest but with lots of stunners, beautiful faces and performers height alone won't help her winning the crown or even placing in the top 15.

Bb. 19 Christi Lynn McGarry - Her fair complexion, amazing body, stage performance and great communication skill will really help her a lot clinching a crown. I found her beautiful in all her photos but I noticed one thing about her. Her beauty is deceiving!

Bb. 20 Tanya Angelina Nicole Hyde - If this Binibini could give a great performance on March 15 then she will pull a surprise. I'm not a fan of her beauty yet she has this something that might help her to be one of the semi-finalists.

Bb. 21 Alaiza Flor Malinao - She has been doing pretty well in the competition but there are times that her beauty seems plain at times but rest assured she had a spot already, its for her to work out to get the title.

Bb. 22 Anja-Vanessa Peter - She has this lovely face but I found one destructing feature with her beauty. Is it the eyes or the way she smile? Well, I am hoping that she will do better than good on March 15.

Bb. 23 Justine Beatrice Felizarta - I can't say much more about her. She's good for a model not a beauty queen, just my two cents.

Bb. 24 Ann Lorraine Colis - One of those who improved a lot. I am keeping my eyes on her. She will give the front runners a run for their money. A huge possibility that she would win the top plum.

Bb. 25 Rogelie Catacutan - One of the most prepared Binibini.Cebu's strong delegate in this batch. I have seen so much of her photos last year preparing for this year's pageant. I love her beauty but she would be having difficulties winning one of the crowns. A runner-up or a semi placement is no way out for sure.

Bb. 26 Anabel Christine Tia - Another prepared Binibini who had an immense improvement. She was left unnoticed last year but it's different this time. She is really making sure that she would have everyone's eyes on her.

Bb. 27 Ina Dominica Guerrero - She's giving me a perplexed looks. There are times that she's so stunning and sometimes she looks so plain and simple. But If I were to base on her performance during the JAG Fashion show and national costume show she did pretty good and will enter the semis.

Bb. 28 Hannah Ruth Sison - She's not my type of beauty queen when she joined the Bb. Pilipinas Gold (2013) but last year she changed my thoughts about her. She gave a milestone performance which led her placing 2nd runner-up. I am looking forward for another great performance this year and hopefully she would snatch one of the crowns.

Bb. 29 Nancy Lee Leonard - She has the most expensive face in this batch and she is  really doing good on-off stage. She is really another strong contender for any of the titles.

Bb. 30 Patricia Lae Ejercitado - She has been a favorite of mine even before. She's really, really gorgeous in person. But her performance this year is quite inconsistent. I am hoping that she will do pretty good during the finals and hopefully will snatch one of the crowns or even place as runner-up.

Bb. 31 Mia Allyson Howell - Facially wise she is beautiful but need to tone down her body. Her present standing is not pageant ready she will have difficulties in outshining the rest. But she have shown huge improvement since screening days.

Bb. 32 Danita Joan Ruazol - Her beauty is not enough and doesn't scream any titles though she is giving a great performance.

Bb. 33 Namrata Neesha Murjani -She is beautiful but need to tone down her body. Her beauty scream any of the crowns.

Bb. 34 Teresita Sen Marquez - Her performance is really noticeable. She is really doing great in the competition, so, no doubt if she will win any titles.

MYTHICAL CROWN contenders, runners-up and their SPOILERS

2nd runner-up

Bb. 26 Anabel Christine Tia, Her huge development is really hard to ignore. Who would have thought she gone that far after failing last year? Having that sophistication and excellent communication skill makes her a worthy competitor.

1st runner-up

Bb. 25 Rogelie Catacutan, she may not be a crown favorite but she has the experience that will prove her worth. Who knows she will win a crown.

Spoiler: Janicel Lubina ( If she will not win the Bb. Pilipinas Universe crown )

Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Queen International

Bb. 4 Renee Soraya Hassani, absolutely stunning and head turner. This 23 year-old lass from Cubao, Quezon City has been tested internationally where she won 1st runner-up at Miss Diversity and Culture International 2014. This lovely lady will surely gloom in a dark road with her beauty.

Bb. 33 Namrata Neesha Murjani, I was not too taken by her but this dusky morena have gone far to winning the crown. She is one of those who you would hardly ignore once she laid her eyes and smile at you.

Spoilers: Christi Lynn McGarry and Kimverlyn Suiza. Both are gorgeous in their own way. McGarry has this Miss Universe appeal but once you look at her in person, she tends to be boring and layogenic. Suiza mastered her actions and knows how to play when she's on stage this year.

Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental

Bb. 10 Pia Wurztbach, with her malignant eyes she is indeed a front-runner. Had she toned down her body like when we first saw her in 2013 she might win the top plum. Just need to work on putting less make-up and soften her features.

Bb. 6 Toni Alyessa Hipolito, banking on her mestiza look for a crown. Having been in the competition 3 times give her an advantage for sure she mastered the Bb. Pilipinas stage already.

Spoilers: Renee Soraya Hassani and Alaiza Flor Malinao.
Malinao is one of the prettiest in the batch. She is exuding fierceness that makes her become lovable.

Bb. Pilipinas Supranational

Bb. 3 Ria Rabajante a very nice lady. She always walk with so much confidence and set the stage on fire. Her beauty is oozing with so much appeal. Considering her top caliber cat walk will help her to winning the Supranational crown.

Bb. 30 Patricia Lae Ejercitado is my sentimental favorite this year yet I can't place her to winning the Bb. Pilipinas Universe crown for she will be in uphill battle for that crown with Colis, Lubina and Verzosa. Her sophistication and great cat walk skill is ready to board for Miss Supranational crown.

Spoiler: Teresita Ssen Marquez, with her very strong and commanding stage performance she will fit for the title.

Bb. Pilipinas International

Bb. 14 Princess Joy Camu, this pretty lass will prove her mettle in the national stage on March 15, 2015. Her junoesque and regal stance makes her a worthy contender for the crown.

Bb. 29 Nancy Lee Leonard, she is the many faces of the batch. She is the combination of Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega and Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup, indeed a Universal beauty but she would be having hard time winning the top plum being with at least 4 daunting Binibinis.

Spoilers: Kylie Verzosa and Toni Alyessa Hipolito. Both will give justice to Bianca Guidotti. Their porcelain beauties are indeed noticeable.

Bb. Pilipinas Universe

Spoilers: Hannah Ruth Lulu Sison and Ann Lorraine Colis. Both are worthy spoilers for the Bb. Pilipinas Universe crown. They will surely give them a run for their money.

Sison is always a crown contender since 2013. This pastor's daughter is giving all her best for the last time. This maiden ( archaic ) is really made by glamour of sophistication and fierceness.

Colis is seldom notice by many pageant pundits but she is a shoo-in for Bb. Pilipinas Universe crown. I must say, she is a silent-killer and is slowly working for the crown. Her feisty look and stunning face make her stand out when she's with the other girls. Anyways, she isBb. Pilipinas Universe 2000, Nina Ricci Alagao dead-ringer.

Bb. 11 Janicel Lubina and Bb. 12 Kylie Verzosa are my bets for Bb. Pilipinas Universe crown. Both are spoilers to any titles but if the former won't win the Bb. Pilipinas Universe crown then better not give her any other crown, a runner-up would be fine. While the latter is a worthy spoiler for the Bb. Pilipinas International crown. I'm torn between them.

Janicel is the most sought-after Binibini that suits for the Miss Universe crown. She has the personality, filipina black doll like beauty and a body many are dying to clamor. It is a time for us to send a young and fresh candidate to Miss Universe pageant. As for her communication skills, she already develop the confidence in delivering her thoughts every time she answer a question and is constantly working for improvement. Venezuela maintain its powerhouse status in the world of pageantry despite sending a non-good english speaker ( they are usually using an interpreter most of the time. ) .

Kylie. Having that doll-like features, regal and queenly aura she is an instant front-runner . She is charismatic and vibrant when I first saw her, I was like OHH MY!

So, who are your bets for the crowns? Care to share?
