After a rigorous screening process in the past weeks held at the Club Filipino in San Juan City, finally the organization have chosen the official candidates of the inaugural search - Miss Pearl of the Philippines.

What is Miss Pearl of the Philippines?

"Miss Pearl of the Philippines is dedicated to fostering tourism, good camaraderie and sisterhood among young Filipina women by giving them the opportunity to showcase their culture, talent and to be ambassadors of goodwill of their respective hometowns.

It shares the purpose of coming up with an honest competition and helping exceptional Filipina beauties to explore their true potential. 

It also aims to promote their enthusiasm and appreciation of health, wellness as well as social and civic work to the community."

What future awaits the Miss Pearl of the Philippines 2016 winners?

As for now, a chance to represent the Philippines in an international pageant is yet to be discussed but what's good about winning this pageant is, the winners will have a full-tuition undergraduate scholarships, modelling portfolios, dermatology and skincare services, travel experiences, charity works,  and of course a cash prize guaranteed. Also, one of the sponsors will be providing a home security to the winners.

An exciting pageant in the making isn't it?

If it's a battle of wit and credentials, Jerelleen Rodriguez will easily snatch the main crown or any of the titles.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.

Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.

Aren't these enough for her to win any of the crowns?

She only has not the gift of gab and wit but of beauty as well.

Igorota Queen's vying for the World

A 22 year-old Communication graduate from the University of Baguio hopes to be Miss World Philippines 2018.

Joemay Leo, an Igorota Queen from Tuba, Benguet made it to the official list of candidates of  this year's Miss World Philippines.

Leo doesn't have the drive in joining pageants when she was  younger not until she was chosen  to represent the high school department  for Miss University of Baguio 2011 which she later won. At 15, she had her first crown and the passion to join pageants was born where she reaped; Miss Tuba 2014, Miss Benguet 2014 first runner-up, Miss Baguio 2015 third runner-up and Miss Cordillera 2016.

She was an active student leader when she was still studying. In fact, she was awarded AY Foundation National Discipline awardee, JCI Youth Leadership Excellence awardee, Gerry Roxas Leadership awardee. Currently, she is serving as an SK Kagawad of her barangay.
