#FindingMiss52 is Alexandra Miller

Alexandra Miller is no stranger to the pageant world, she was Miss Oklahoma's first runner-up last year and a year before. She succeeded Jordan as Miss Oklahoma USA after Olivia won Miss USA.

Miller was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but grew up in Derby, Kansas. She has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Wichita State University, with Minors in Management and Spanish (2012). Today she is employed as a Technical Recruiter at TEKsystems; and works as a Professional Model at Brink Model Management.

"I was Olivia Jordan's first runner-up when she won the title of Miss Oklahoma USA, and she actually won Miss USA on my 26th birthday, which meant I had to decide if I wanted to compete my last year or take over her title," Miller tells PEOPLE.

When she decided to step in as Miss Oklahoma USA last year, she just cut-off her dream of competing for the Miss USA crown. Luck might be on her side over the course of a month, the Finding Miss52 announcement and search sparked national attention and encouraged women across the country to apply. An expert judging panel selected the 10 finalists after interviewing the top contenders to find women who embody The Miss Universe Organization’s mission to be Confidently Beautiful. Fans were able to vote for their favorite finalist this past week which ultimately determined the winner who will compete at MISS USA.

"This is a chance for me to resurface a dream that I thought was long gone," says Miller, who has been competing in pageants for the past eight years.

"The Miss Universe organization wants to promote confidence and believing in yourself and perseverance. I think that's who I am as a person, and that's why I was always interested in it," she says. "You have a unique opportunity as a title holder within the organization to inspire other people – whether it be young females or males across the world. That's why I want to be a part of the organization, and I'm so honored to have this incredible opportunity."
