Janelle Nicholas Wins Miss Earth New Zealand 2016



Janelle Nicholas was crowned as Miss Earth New Zealand 2016 on April 30, 2016 by the outgoing queen, Anna Lisa Christianne. Janelle Nicholas will now represent New Zealand in the coming edition of Miss Earth 2016. During the coronation night, Brooke Craig (Miss Cosmopolitan 2016) was adjudged as first runner up and Hollie Peterson (Miss Bikini Universe 2016) was titled as second runner up.


In the grand coronation night of Miss Earth New Zealand 2016, Janelle Nicholas also won Most Photogenic, Best in Q&A, and Best in Talent. She is currently working towards a double major in Linguistics and Psychology at the University of Auckland. In the near future is hoping to specialize in Speech Pathology. In dancing Janelle has passed solo seal examinations in ballet and jazz, she also likes playing touch and indoor netball. At only 25 years of age, she enjoys travelling to new countries and places, her favourite is Budapest in Hungary.

New Zealand has never placed at Miss Earth pageant since its participation. Do you think Janelle Nicholas can earn her country the first placement?

Miss Venezuela Pageant Suspended Amid Prostitution and Corruption Scandal

The organization behind Miss Venezuela’s iconic beauty pageant is under investigation for possible misconduct of its contestants following claims of prostitution and corruption throughout the organization.
Former Miss Venezuela contestants, posted on social media insinuating other contestants had romantic relationships with corrupt businessmen and officials.
"Given the events recently described on social media ... a decision has been made to begin an internal review to determine if anyone linked (to the pageant), during the course of their involvement, violated the values and ethics of the contest," the Miss Venezuela Organization said in a statement.
