The official said that the Vietnamese model did not report to the culture department when applying for the contest, and it was against the law.

According to Vietnam's official rules, those who want to compete in beauty competitions abroad must have at least one national title and must secure permission from the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Apart from administrative fines, models and beauties competing overseas without approval will be banned from performing in 6-24 months once an amended government decree on cultural violations takes effect in the coming time.

Eligibility of competing abroad should be a national winner and with recognition from their Tourism Department. It is illegal if you will compete international without authorization.
