Puerto Rico's Heilymar Rosario Velazquez wins Miss Intercontinental 2016

The 45th Miss Intercontinental took place tonight at the Stein Studios, Colombo  in Sri Lanka. 63 candidates competed for the Miss Intercontinental 2016 crown.

20-year-old, Heilymar Rosario Velazquez bagged the coveted Miss Intercontinental 2016 crown, beating out 62 other international delegates. First runner-up was Sri Lanka's Tracy Ann de Zilva; 2nd runner-up was Silvia Commodore of Ghana. Italy's Floriana Russo and Venezuela's Amal Karina Nemer were the 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively.

Last year's winner Valentina Rasulova of Russia crowned her successor at the end of the event.

Miss Intercontinental signifies “women of power and grace, commitment and intelligence, style and substance.”

If it's a battle of wit and credentials, Jerelleen Rodriguez will easily snatch the main crown or any of the titles.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.



Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.


Aren't these enough for her to win any of the crowns?

Igorota Queen's vying for the World

A 22 year-old Communication graduate from the University of Baguio hopes to be Miss World Philippines 2018.


Joemay Leo, an Igorota Queen from Tuba, Benguet made it to the official list of candidates of  this year's Miss World Philippines.

Leo doesn't have the drive in joining pageants when she was  younger not until she was chosen  to represent the high school department  for Miss University of Baguio 2011 which she later won. At 15, she had her first crown and the passion to join pageants was born where she reaped; Miss Tuba 2014, Miss Benguet 2014 first runner-up, Miss Baguio 2015 third runner-up and Miss Cordillera 2016.


She was an active student leader when she was still studying. In fact, she was awarded AY Foundation National Discipline awardee, JCI Youth Leadership Excellence awardee, Gerry Roxas Leadership awardee. Currently, she is serving as an SK Kagawad of her barangay.
