India wins its Six Miss World crown


A 20-year-old, medical student from Haryana won the 2017 Miss World crown. Manushi Chhillar is the new Miss World beating 117 other countries around the world.

Manushi Chillar has become the sixth Indian to be crowned Miss World. The 20-year-old will bring the crown back to India after 17 years. The last Indian to bag the title was Priyanka Chopra, who wore the crown in 2000.


Chhillar, who won both the Head to Head challenge and the Beauty with a purpose segment of the Miss World competition, impressed the judges with her final answer. When asked, which profession in the world deserves the highest salary and why, she answered, "My mother has been my biggest inspiration, so I have to say, a mother's job. It is not always about cash, but love and respect as well. A mother deserves that the most."

Mexico's Andrea Meza and England's Stephanie Hill were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Completing the final five were the delegates from France and Kenya.

Miss World 2017, the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant was held on 18 November 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. 118 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Stephanie Del Valleof Puerto Rico crowned her successor Manushi Chhillar of India at the end of the event.

If it's a battle of wit and credentials, Jerelleen Rodriguez will easily snatch the main crown or any of the titles.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.



Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.

Miss Venezuela Pageant Suspended Amid Prostitution and Corruption Scandal

The organization behind Miss Venezuela’s iconic beauty pageant is under investigation for possible misconduct of its contestants following claims of prostitution and corruption throughout the organization.
Former Miss Venezuela contestants, posted on social media insinuating other contestants had romantic relationships with corrupt businessmen and officials.
"Given the events recently described on social media ... a decision has been made to begin an internal review to determine if anyone linked (to the pageant), during the course of their involvement, violated the values and ethics of the contest," the Miss Venezuela Organization said in a statement.
Miss Venezuela is owned by the wealthy Venezuelan Cisneros family.
