Celeste Cortesi of Fil-Rome, Italy hails as Miss Earth Philippines 2018

Celeste Cortesi, a 20-year old, model from the Filipino Community of Rome, Italy was crowned Miss Earth Philippines 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena during the pageant finals night.

Cortesi whose advocacy is about the trees in Italy bested 41 other contestants. She believes that we should protect our urban fragile forest because trees are life. She was also crowned as the very first Miss Philippines Earth-Italy.

Miss Venezuela Pageant Suspended Amid Prostitution and Corruption Scandal

The organization behind Miss Venezuela’s iconic beauty pageant is under investigation for possible misconduct of its contestants following claims of prostitution and corruption throughout the organization.
Former Miss Venezuela contestants, posted on social media insinuating other contestants had romantic relationships with corrupt businessmen and officials.
"Given the events recently described on social media ... a decision has been made to begin an internal review to determine if anyone linked (to the pageant), during the course of their involvement, violated the values and ethics of the contest," the Miss Venezuela Organization said in a statement.
Miss Venezuela is owned by the wealthy Venezuelan Cisneros family.
