Miss Universe 2018 Pre-arrival Power Rankings

With at least over a week, the Miss Universe 2018 contestants will be arriving at the host country – Thailand, thus, we can't be more excited to present our pre-arrival power rankings.

Leading our first power ranking is the most talked-about and the controversial delegate for this year's pageant , Angela Ponce from Spain who made history for being the first trans woman to join the Miss Universe contest. Angela has received a lot of criticisms after winning the Miss Universe Spain pageant. Her eligibility to join the international contest for natural-born woman has been questioned. However, her being the talk of the town had surely captured the attention of the MUO thus, we believe she's being eyed for the crown.

Lagging behind is Puerto Rico's Kiara Ortega. 25 year-old Kiara works for an organization named Centro Inés which provides different educational and recreational  services for children and seniors to help develop a sense of independence, creativity and mastery…

Miss World 2018 First Power Rankings

Miss World 2018 will be the 68th edition of the Miss World pageant which will take place in Sanya, China on 8 December 2018. Manushi Chhillar of India will crown her successor at the end of the event. 119 contestants from all over the world will compete for the crown.

New set of winners to represent Mr. and Miss Philippine Islands

Shannon Kerver from Cabiao, Nueva Ecija and Wilson Yalung of Silang, Cavite were adjudged as Mr. and Miss Philippine Islands 2018 during the second edition of the Miss Philippine Islands 2018.

Princess Pusing of Masbate City and Aaron Esmenda of Camarines Norte were named as Mr. and Miss Philippine Islands - Luzon, respectively.

Nellay Pasahol of Batangas and AJ Rumbaua of Nueva Vizcaya are the Mr. and Miss Philippine Islands - Visayas.

Katherine Costan of Bacolod is Miss Philippine Islands - Mindanao  while Jemm Verano of Indang Cavite is Mr. Philippine Islands - Mindanao

To complete the set of winners, Miss Teen Philippine Islands is Jenevic Cariño of San Mateo, Rizal while Christian Jay Maniego of Makati City is Mr.Teen Philippine Islands

Miss Progress International - Women for Progress is on its sixth edition.

Miss Universe 1995 dies at 45

Miss Universe 1995, Chelsi Smith passed away at 45 due to cancer.

Smith became the first African-American to win the Miss Texas, USA crown. She was also, Miss Gavelston 1994.

She represented the state of Texas at the Miss USA1995 pageany won the crown. The same year, she was also crowned Miss Universe.

Cebuana teen ventures for another national crown

Kylah Kristianne Yve Sanchez is probably one of the youngest candidates at the age of 18 in this year's Miss World Philippines. She was crowned Miss Hannah’s Tourism Ambassador 2018 in May.

Kyla represented Liloan, Cebu in Mr & Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018. She was Miss Tabogon in Binibining Cebu 2017 pageant. On top of that, she also held  few crowns under her belt; Miss Tabogon 2017, Miss Kalunasan 2017, Miss Yati 2017 (Liloan).

This Cebuana teen loves to play guitar and a hardworking athlete – a volleyball varsity player and a skim boarding fanatic.

Celebrity star to compete for the World

Before showing herself as an aspirant of the Miss World Philippines 2018, she joined first TV 5's Artista Academy in 2012. She made her acting debut in Wattpad Presents (2014). She also appeared in other networks for Ipaglaban mo (2014), FPJ's Ang Probinsyano and a movie under Regal Films, The Debutantes (2017).

Chanel Morales is also a model and a digital influencer gracing the cover of publications like Chalk and Sense & Style.

"I also wanted to be the voice to other girls that no matter where you are from and who you are as long as you believe in yourself, you can attain anything in life", she said in her Rappler interview.
