Sarah Rose Summers of Nebraska wins Miss USA 2018

The Miss USA 2018 pageant finals was held at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana on May 21, 2018.

51 stunning ladies from the 50 states and the District of Columbia competed for the coveted crown and the glory to represent USA at the Miss Universe pageant which will be held later this year.

The top 15 were announced and competed for the swimsuit round: Miss Massachusetts, Miss Maryland, Miss Tennessee, Miss Oregon, Miss North Carolina, Miss Michigan, Miss California, Miss Nevada, Miss Florida, Miss New Jersey, Miss Georgia, Miss South Dakota, Miss Nebraska, Miss Maine and Miss Texas.

The top 10 were announced after. Miss California, Miss Maine, Miss Nevada, Miss Tennessee, Miss New Jersey, Miss Nebraska, Miss North Carolina, Miss Georgia, Miss South Dakota and Miss Florida. These ladies went on to compete for the evening gown and the five finalists were chosen: Miss Nevada, Miss Florida, Miss Nebraska, Miss North Carolina and South Dakota. They were narrowed down to three; Miss Nebraska, Miss North Carolina and Miss Nevada.

After the final question and answer round, 23 year-old, cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University in four years with two degrees while working part-time as a Pilates instructor and at Lululemon Athletica from the state of Nebraska was crowned Miss USA 2018.

Sarah Rose Summers has just completed her clinical rotations to become a Certified Child Life Specialist.

Miss North Carolina and Miss Nevada were the first and second runners up, respectively.

A UP Professor eyes to be Miss World Philippines 2018

If it's a battle of wit and credentials, Jerelleen Rodriguez will easily snatch the main crown or any of the titles.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.

Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.

Aren't these enough for her to win any of the crowns?

She only has not the gift of gab and wit but of beauty as well.

Igorota Queen's vying for the World

A 22 year-old Communication graduate from the University of Baguio hopes to be Miss World Philippines 2018.

Joemay Leo, an Igorota Queen from Tuba, Benguet made it to the official list of candidates of  this year's Miss World Philippines.

Leo doesn't have the drive in joining pageants when she was  younger not until she was chosen  to represent the high school department  for Miss University of Baguio 2011 which she later won. At 15, she had her first crown and the passion to join pageants was born where she reaped; Miss Tuba 2014, Miss Benguet 2014 first runner-up, Miss Baguio 2015 third runner-up and Miss Cordillera 2016.

She was an active student leader when she was still studying. In fact, she was awarded AY Foundation National Discipline awardee, JCI Youth Leadership Excellence awardee, Gerry Roxas Leadership awardee. Currently, she is serving as an SK Kagawad of her barangay.
