Masbateñas vie for National crowns

Three cowgirls are trying their luck in national pageants.

There are a few lucky Masbateñas who previously joined a national pageants and brought pride and honor to the Province of Masbate. Bea Rose Santiago even won an international crown for the Philippines.

Currently, three Masbateñas are competing nationally. Will they be as successful as Bea Rose? Let's get to know more about these ladies.

Maria Romelda Dela Este Villanueva who is vying for the Miss Philippine Islands 2018 crown comes from the Municipality of Mandaon. She is a graduate of BS Accountancy at La Consolacion College Manila. Romelda has been very keen in joining beauty pageants and it was only after 5 years that she was convinced to give it a try. She aspires not only to be an ambassadress of Ms. Philippine Islands but also as a spokesperson and an inspiration to many. She was also selected as one of the youth representatives during the ASEAN Summit. She’s a daughter of a public school teacher and a local politician who dreams of becoming a CPA-Lawyer someday.

Miss Province of Masbate 2018 second runner-up and Miss Philippines Earth 2017 candidate, Princess Pusing is also eyeing to be the next Miss Philippine Islands. Pusing was also Miss Jose Rizal University 2017. Princess wants to be the voice in the promotion of culture, traditions and beauty of Masbate. An active and empowered woman having been a former Golden Zonta Club member, former secretary general of Liberal Arts Students in college, an environmental advocate and wants to continue her advocacy in serving the communities in the country.

Marissa Alvarez Ruado, on the other hand, eyes to be the next Miss Milennial Philippines. Ruado is a junior high school student at Balud National High School. She earned the rights to be Masbate's representative at the biggest pageant in television  when she won the Miss Province of Masbate 2018 pageant.

A UP Professor eyes to be Miss World Philippines 2018

If it's a battle of wit and credentials, Jerelleen Rodriguez will easily snatch the main crown or any of the titles.

She will surely leave you at awe with what she has to offer. This lass from Nasugbu, Batangas is a Cum laude graduate with a degree in BS Business Administration and Accountancy from the UP Diliman and a Certified Public Accountant who placed sixth in the October 2013 CPA board licensure examination. She is also a Professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman for the Department of Accounting and Finance while studying law at the UP College of Law.

Aside from all of these, she is also a member of the National Union of People’s Lawyers, a Chief Finance Officer, MGC Holdings, Inc., an angel investment hub and an education advocate.

Aren't these enough for her to win any of the crowns?

She only has not the gift of gab and wit but of beauty as well.
